MacBook Pro

Now with a new touch

It’s thinnner and lighter, yet faster and more powerful than before and comes with the brightest, most colorful Mac notebook display ever. It also introduces the new Touch Bar — a Multi-Touch enabled strip of glass built into the keyboard that gives you instant access to the tools you need when you need them. It’s groundbreaking.

Touch Bar and Touch ID

A new and revolutionary way to use your Mac

The new Touch Bar replaces the function keys that usually sit at the top of your keyboard. It’s more versatile and allows you to make changes automatically based on whatever you’re doing. You now get access to relevant tools that you already know — like volume and brightness, interactive ways to browse through content and even includes intelligent typing features like emoji and predictive text. With Touch ID, you get instant access to logins and fast, secure online purchases with Apple Pay.

Retina Display

It’s the brightest. It’s the most colorful.

The new display in the MacBook Pro is simply the best ever in any Mac notebook. Brighter LED backlighting and an increased contrast ratio deliver deeper blacks and brighter whites. It has a larger pixel aperture and variable refresh rate that make it more power efficient than ever. It’s the first Mac notebook to support wide color – so greens and reds are even more vibrant. This allows images that are even more true-to-life and have the realistically vivid detail needed for graphic design, color grading, and editing.

The all MacBook Pro now features P3 color, so you now have 25 percent more colors available than standard RGB and a much broader range of greens and reds.

Audio

Speakers that can speak up – Loudly.

The speakers have been redesigned and now provide twice the dynamic range with up to 58 percent more volume, all with two and a half times louder bass. They’re connected directly to system power so you get three times more peak power. They make MacBook Pro perfect for mixing a track on the fly, editing video as on set or enjoying movies on the go.

Keyboard and Trackpad

Responsive keyboard.

Expanded trackpad.

Enjoy interacting with the new MacBook Pro by using the redesigned keyboard that includes the new, second-generation butterfly mechanism — refined for greater comfort and responsiveness. The Force Touch trackpad is significantly bigger so your fingers have more room to gesture and click.9

Thunderbolt 3

Power and versatility

Thunderbolt 3 brings the ultra-high bandwidth and the ultra-versatility of the USB-C industry standard together to create one universal port. Data transfer, charging, and video output in a single connector, with up to 40 Gbps of throughput – twice the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2. Both sizes of MacBook Pro come with four ports, so you do all that from one side or the other. Existing devices easily connect with a cable or adapter. And Thunderbolt 3 is reversible – it’s always right side up.

Simultaneously connect two 5K displays and two RAID systems to a 15-inch MacBook Pro with four Thunderbolt 3 ports to create a powerful workstation.

macOS

It’s why Macs can do things other computers can’t.

macOS is the operating system powering every Mac. It is engineered to be a perfect fit for the hardware it runs on and designed to be both easy to use and beautiful to look at. macOS includes apps you’ll use everyday — and love. It also connects you to iCloud so your Mac, iOS devices, and Apple Watch can work together.
