Finder Shortcuts
A few Finder shortcuts: Hold the command key as you double-click a folder to open the folder in a new window. Hold the option key while double clicking a folder to open the folder in a new window and close the parent folder. Command N creates a new Finder window, command shift N creates a new folder.
