OS X or Classic Mode
Some applications can run in either as Classic applications or native Mac OS X applications. If you suspect that an OS X application is running in the classic environment, find the application's icon in the finder, go to the "File" menu and choose "Get Info", then make sure the "Open in the Classic environment" checkbox is *not* selected.
