Share terabytes of data over an ultrafast Fibre Channel network with Xsan 2. This easy-to-use, enterprise-class, high-performance storage area network (SAN) file system for Mac OS X enables you to share one or more RAID devices with multiple servers or workstations.
Combining enhanced performance with Apple's legendary ease of use, Xsan 2 makes it easier for first-time users to quickly set up and deploy a SAN. It also introduces MultiSAN, which allows users on a single workstation to access multiple SANs at the same time. Xsan 2 is fully integrated with Mac OS X Leopard and Leopard Server and is qualified to work with third-party RAID storage hardware.
Whether your business is large or small, the Apple Volume Licensing Agreement (VLA) provides an easy and cost-effective way to purchase Apple's Xsan software.
With VLA, you license the right to use Apple software on a specified number of systems at your business or institution -- you determine how many. Discounts are based on the number of licenses you are purchasing of each product, and volume pricing starts at 10 seats.
Media Set and Doc Set are not included in License fee. The number of sets available for purchase is limited to the number of Licenses purchased. Media Sets, Doc Sets, and Technical Support are not counted in determining tier level. Upon completion of your Xsan Volume License order, you will receive an electronic or physical copy of the serial number for use with the Licenses covered under your Volume License Agreement.

Spotlight
Support for Spotlight, Cover Flow, and Quick Look in Leopard makes it easy for users to find and access content on your SAN volumes.
Leopard Server Integration
Mac OS X Server features such as iCal Server, Mail Server, and Podcast Producer integrate with Xsan 2 to support clustered file systems and improve performance and scalability.
RAID Storage
Xsan 2 is qualified to support RAID storage hardware including Xserve RAID and the Promise VTrak E-Class RAID Subsystem.
