The CalDigit VR is the most complete two drive RAID system on the market today. It offers impressive performance, unmatched connectivity, and superior quality all in a sleek and easily upgradable enclosure that is both small and functional.
The CalDigit VR provides configurable RAID modes with an LCD monitor that indicates RAID capacity, RAID information and environmental monitoring. With cutting edge technology, the CalDigit VR supports a variety of software applications. It is designed to connect with Mac, Linux, or Windows PC via eSATA, FireWire 400, FireWire 800, and USB 2.0 connections.
Performance (RAID 0), Protected (RAID 1), or JBOD can be configured from the back panel, or via the software provided. In performance mode, the CalDigit VR can utilize 2 SATA drives with speeds of up to 200MB/s, and play back 10 bit uncompressed SD. In protected mode, the CalDigit VR provides continuous, full time protection of valuable digital content. If a hard drive should fail, the CalDigit VR will automatically rebuild your content in a short period of time.
Manage, Monitor, Modify
The CalDigit VR features an easy to read, orange backlight LCD screen, that indicates RAID capacity, RAID information and environmental monitor. It allows monitoring of system status, such as current activity, rebuilding progress, failure notification, unconfigured notification, verifying and if the CalDigit VR is unplugged. The environmental fan condition and internal temperature can also be monitored on the LCD screen. The RAID level can be easily configured on the multi-function panel. A cooler design.

The CalDigit technical team works with unparalleled effort to solve the overheating problem that many other storage products may have. The CalDigit VR comes with a quiet, reliable, ball-bearing fan which is specially designed to facilitate airflow from the top to the bottom, and from the front to the back of the hard drives. The CalDigit VR keeps the heat outside the workstation to protect all the valuable components that are installed.
On the go
The CalDigit VR is a worry free mobile unit, which works great with the AJA IoHD or the Matrox MXO 2. At CalDigit, we are proud to say that we were the one of the first companies to include support for laptops with its RAID storage systems. This is thanks to our internal RAID processor and GUI which makes it easy to configure the the CalDigit VR. Whether you are at home, at the studio, or anywhere in the field, the CalDigit VR gives you the freedom to work virtually anywhere.
Easy configuration and monitors
The CalDigit VR provides the ability to monitor system status with a user friendly GUI (graphic user interface). It also offers password protection to prevent unauthorized reading of confidential RAID settings. RAID Shield management provides advanced e-mail event notification of any fan failure, drive failure or even when the temperature exceeds normal limits.
