The CalDigit VR2 is the most complete two drive RAID system on the market today. It offers unmatched performance, impressive connectivity and superior quality all in a sleek and easily upgradeable enclosure that is both portable and functional.
Hardware RAID 0, 1 and JBOD with Quadruple Interface
The CalDigit VR2 features true hardware RAID, which provides an independent CPU and dedicated cache memory to manage the RAID volume. This dedicated processor eliminates additional strain from the host system's CPU, allowing applications full access.

The quadruple interface supports USB 3.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA, making the CalDigit VR2 extremely versatile. Two FireWire 800 ports make it easy to daisy chain multiple CalDigit VR2s together without any performance loss.
Modular Design
The CalDigit VR2 uses two hot-swappable drive modules, allowing easy replacement and expansion. The modular design even allows for easy replacement of the fan.
The sleek and sexy design is as functional as it is good looking. A front side power button makes powering the unit on and off a breeze, and the all aluminum enclosure is eco friendly and provides additional heat dissipation.
Fast & Safe
The CalDigit VR2 can reach speeds over 250 MB/s in RAID 0, and over 160 MB/s with RAID 1 protection. RAID 1 provides the ultimate in protection and backup for valuable data by mirroring data on both drives. If a drive fails, all data can be restored.
Smart & Manageable
The CalDigit VR2 comes with RAID Tool, a unique software that provides easy management, monitoring, diagnostic reports, email notification and firmware update capabilities. This provides users with interactive assurance.
This easy to use software is the command center for the CalDigit VR2, which allows users to update the firmware. Other two drive arrays lack this important capability, which allows for additional features as well as bug fixes.
The CalDigit VR2 also utilizes a LCD screen that provides detailed information about temperature, fan RPM and hard drive health, so you are always in the know. It also allows configuration without being attached to a computer.
Cool & Quiet
The energy saving, ambient temperature-controlled smart fan runs only when the CalDigit VR2 needs it most. It runs extremely quiet, ensuring proper airflow and advanced cooling without compromise.

Tapeless Workflow
Because the CalDigit VR2 supports both RAID 1 and JBOD, it's the perfect replacement for video tape. Use RAID 1 on set for an instant backup, then each drive module can be read individually with JBOD.
The CalDigit VR2 has two hot swappable drive modules, allowing for easy replacement and expansion. Extra Drive modules come in handy archive boxes (not included with VR2). Drive modules from the original CalDigit VR are fully compatible with the VR2, and VR2 drive modules are backwards compatible in existing CalDigit VRs. So you'll never have to worry about interchanging your data.
