The CalDigit FASTA-2ex 6G eSATA cards have been designed for the most demanding content creators. So applications like video editing, audio sweetening and photography are the perfect fit for theFASTA-2ex. The FASTA-2ex provides 2 eSATA ports with the latest SATA 6G technology, allowing for speeds of up to 6Gbps. The new FASTA-2ex is completely backwards compatible with legacy SATA devices. It also supports port multiplier enclosures and other devices like external optical drives. The FASTA-2ex is also the perfect addition to the CalDigit VR and or CalDigit VR mini.
The FASTA-2ex will work with any laptop that has an ExpressCard 34 slot, such as the Apple MacBook Pro 17". The FASTA-2ex also supports hot plugging, so there is no need to restart the computer when connecting or disconnecting an eSATA device.
The FASTA-2ex supports many popular technologies including, S.M.A.R.T., port multiplication, and support for green and high performance SATA drives. It is also fully compatible with SATA I, SATA II and SATA III drives.
