The iMac G4 was arguably the machine that made the computer world take notice that Apple was going to be a force to be reckoned with for a long time to come. The unique and very functional design of the iMac, separating the display from the uniquely attractive housing which doubles as a stand, is still testimony to the amazing engineering prowess that Apple is famous for. The stainless steel neck is incredibly robust, and still is enjoyed by those people who appreciate or need the display to be easiy manuevered for additional viewability.
The 17-inch iMac G4s were the top of the line for the series until the 20-inch display was introduced (setting a new standard for all-in-one display sizes), and feature a PowerPC 7445 G4 processor.
Some models are able to boot into OS 9 'Classic,' (i.e. 'Dual-Bootable'), and others will only run Classic under emulation (i.e. they must boot into OS X). We note the models which are able to dual boot in the individual list of included specifications and accessories.
The OS X-only models support Airport Extreme and Bluetooth, while the dual-bootable models only have an Airport slot.
The units shipped with separate speakers, which may or may not always be included with the pre-owned units we sell.
