Return Policy on Third Party Products

We will accept back for a full refund or replacement any product returned in complete, undamaged and unmarked condition, with the exception of product that was ordered through Apple's (Build to Order) process, opened memory or software. Product must be received within 30 days of the original shipping date. If the product has been opened, a 10% repackaging charge will be assessed.

Important note: PowerMax will only arrange to cover return shipping on verified DOA Apple computers to the lower 48 states, otherwise all return freight is the responsibility of the customer.

Return Policy on New or Factory Refurbished Apple Products

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, contact your PowerMax customer service representative within 10 business days of the receipt of the product. If you return an item unopened in the original box, we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. Apple product must be returned to our warehouse within 10 business days of the issuance of an RMA. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product. A 10% open box fee will be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory.

PowerMax does not permit the return or offer refunds for the following products:
  • Product that was ordered through Apple's (Build to Order) process
  • Opened memory or software

Return Policy on Pre-Owned Macs

In addition to a 90-day warranty, we will guarantee any pre-owned Mac to be in good operating condition upon its arrival or we'll pick it up and send you a new one. Important note: We will pick it up and pay for freight only within 72 hours of its receipt.

Subsequent to that, our warranty is 90 days from date of purchase. For service, you pay freight back to us, then we'll fix it and pay to get it back to you via UPS. This service is valid only for the contiguous 48 states.

In addition, we also offer our exclusive Technology Guarantee. If, at any time during the first 90 days of the purchase of a pre-owned Mac, you wish to trade it in, we will guarantee you the FULL purchase price value you paid toward the purchase of anything else we sell!

Dead On Arrival (DOA) Product: System Failure Out of the Box

An Apple-branded hardware product is considered DOA if it shows symptoms of a hardware failure, preventing basic operability, upon its first use out of the box. If you believe that your product is DOA, please call your PowerMax Customer Service Representative within 14 calendar days of the invoice date. PowerMax Technical Support will determine whether the product is DOA and offer you the choice of local repair, or replacement by PowerMax.

Replacement: The same product that you ordered will be shipped to you at our expense. A PowerMax representative will advise you of the procedures for returning the DOA product. If we are replacing in advance of our receipt of the DOA product, a credit card or other security will have to be charged. This will be credited upon our receipt of the original product.

Important note: PowerMax will only arrange to cover return shipping on verified DOA Apple computers, otherwise all return freight is the responsibility of the customer.

If a unit proves to be DOA for reasons other than hardware, i.e. improper software installs, etc., the return freight will be charged back to the customer. If the condition of the product is misrepresented by the customer, PowerMax may impose an additional handling fee.

Unlike most other mail order resellers, we will make every effort to inspect, carefully pack and, unless otherwise requested, bench-test your equipment before shipment. It is our expressly stated goal to eliminate "DOA" Apple equipment as completely as possible, although this in no way represents a guarantee on our part.

Return Procedure

If you have a problem with any product received from us, proceed in the following manner:

  1. Call or email your sales representative and explain the situation. We will do everything in our power to work with you to rectify the problem or help you interface with the manufacturer.

  2. If there is a need to return a product to us, one of our technicians who are authorized to issue you an RMA number for its return will do so. You will be asked to acknowledge a document indicating that you understand our return and packaging policies.

  3. Any returned product must be returned in its original packaging with all manuals, cables, etc., in as new condition, or full credit will not be issued.

All returns must have prior authorization, and must have a proper RMA number issued by an authorized PowerMax representative clearly written on the label on the outside of a double-boxed packing carton. Items that are not clearly and properly marked will be refused at our receiving door. Under no circumstances may product be returned to PowerMax more than 14 days past the date of the issued RMA.

Due to contractual obligations with our distributors we cannot accept returns on software. This includes hardware products that come with software bundles. Understand and read the manufacturer's literature before opening any software! Defective software will be replaced with the same title only, and must be returned complete.

PowerMax will pay return freight to the customer for any defective or replaced product. Customer pays freight for all returns to PowerMax, unless PowerMax is at fault for mispackaging, or it is a certified DOA of an Apple computer.

The function of your product is governed by the warranty issued by each manufacturer. PowerMax cannot assume any responsibility for products manufactured by other companies. All warranties expressed or implied are the individual manufacturer's responsibility, and are ultimately decided by them.

Important note: PowerMax recommends that you (1) use a carrier that offers shipment tracking for all returns and (2) either insure your package for safe return to us or declare the full value of the shipment so that you are completely protected if the shipment is lost or damaged in transit. If you choose not to (1) use a carrier that offers tracking and (2) insure or declare the full value of the product, you will be responsible for any loss or damage to the product during shipping. Please note that the United States Postal Service (USPS) offers limited tracking capabilities and that there is a 30 calendar day waiting period before the USPS will initiate a trace.

Pricing Protection

Should PowerMax reduce its price on any shipped product within 10 calendar days of shipment, you may contact us to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact us within 14 business days of shipment. Should PowerMax reduce its price on any shipped product within 10 calendar days of shipment (holiday special event sale pricing, special value Macs, and used items excluded), you may contact us to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. Errors and Omissions

While we work hard to maintain our web site accurately, once in a while a mistake will occur. Accordingly, we aren't responsible for typographical or pictorial errors or omissions, but will endeavor to fix them as soon as we become aware of any problems or mistakes.
