Will a new Mac Pro run an older 30″ Apple display?
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 / Displays
Hi Jacob!
I have a 30” Apple Cinema HD Display (circa 2005) – will all the new Mac Pro Towers run it? OR do I have to be choosy to get one that will work specifically with it? Thanks for your expertise!
Christine
Yes – every new Mac Pro has a Dual-Link DVI port on it to connect your 30″ Cinema Display. There is also a second connection point with a Mini DisplayPort connector. That can run near any display with the proper adapter, even a second 30″ Display.
