The iBook G4 has a mini-VGA connector.

If your external monitor/TV has a S-video or Composite video input, you need the Apple Video Adapter (part number M9109G/A).

You can use a firmware update called Screen Spanning Doctor to get your iBook to use native resolutions for any size monitor. It also allows multi-display support and clamshell mode. Its what I use on my iBook G4 and it works wonderfully.
