You would want to use Office 2008 for Mac which includes PowerPoint.

You can also purchase Microsoft PowerPoint:Mac 2008 by itself – but for the money it may be better to buy the whole Office suite of applications.

There are other options for making PowerPoint compatible projects but they are not exactly the same. There is the Apple iWork application suite, which has Keynote, a PowerPoint-like application. Keynote will also open PowerPoint presentations, and is generally much easier to work with (as most equivalent apps are to their Microsoft counterparts).
